Continuing Israeli Medical Aid for Mauritania

Following the success of the Israeli eye clinic in Mauritania in July of this year, the Mauritanian government has requested that a second ophthalmological mission visit the country.

Consequently, the Foreign Ministry's Center for International Cooperation (Massive) is currently running an "Eye Camp" at the central hospital in the capital, Nouakchott. The clinic began operations on 21 August and will continue running until 6 September. Dozens of patients were assembled by the Israeli team for cataract operations and treatment to prevent blindness. The team will also provide equipment and train local staff in its use.
