Communicated by Prime Minister's Media Advisor Jerusalem, 24 August 1998 PM Netanyahu denies report in Ha'aretz   The Prime Minister's Office today (Monday) 24.8.98, denied reports in today's Ha'aretz according to which "Prime Minister Netanyahu has conceded demands for the Palestinian National Council (PNC) to convene as a condition for redeployment in the territories". Prime Minister's Media Advisor Aviv Bushinsky states that the Prime Minister has never conceded on this demand and has no intention of doing so. Indeed, the Prime Minister raised this issue with President Bill Clinton last Friday 21.8.98, emphasizing that amending the Palestinian Covenant by the PNC is a fundamental condition for signing an agreement with the Palestinians.
