Foreign Ministry Director-General to Brussels
Foreign Ministry Director-General Eytan Bentsur will visit Brussels this week (8-10.7.98) for talks at the Belgian foreign ministry, the European Union Commission and NATO.
During Bentsur's visit to Brussels, Israeli ambassadors to a number of European Union capitals will convene for consultations, including a discussion and situation assessment concerning Israel's relations with the EU. The discussions will address the "rules of origin" issue and European initiatives to stimulate the political process -- such as France's initiative to convene an international conference and the proposals raised by EU envoy Miguel Moratinos.
While in Brussels, Bentsur will hold a bilateral political dialogue with Belgian Foreign Minister Erik Derycke and with the Director-General of the Belgian Foreign Ministry. He will also meet with NATO Secretary-General Javier Solana and hold meetings at the European Union Commission and the Council of Ministers.
