Communicated by the Finance Ministry Spokesman Jerusalem, September 15, 1997 Israel transfers NIS 123 million to Palestinian Authority Finance Minister Ya'acov Ne'eman today, (Monday), 15.9.97, ordered officials in the Finance Ministry to transfer NIS 123 million to the Palestinian Authority. The Minister took this move following yesterday's decision by the Prime Minister to unfreeze funds for the Palestinian Authority that had been frozen as a result of the recent murderous terrorist attacks. These funds represent 50% of the NIS 246 million in tax return funds which were frozen at that time. It should be noted that these funds are from import taxes, petroleum customs, value added taxes, income taxes, and health taxes.
