Deputy FM Massalha Departs
for Working Visit to Latin America
Deputy Foreign Minister Nawaf Massalha will embark on a working visit to Mexico, Venezuela, Argentina and Uruguay, between April 2-14.
In the course of the visit, the Deputy Foreign Minister will meet with his counterparts and other officials of the administrations and parliaments of the four countries. During Massalha's meetings with his hosts, he will review the peace process and will discuss various bilateral issues, in order to enhance Israel's relations with these countries. During the discussions, the Deputy Minister will raise the issue of the thirteen Jews imprisoned in Iran whose trial is expected to open in Teheran in April.
In the course of his visit, the Deputy Minister will open a number of Israeli cultural events such as the Israel-Uruguay week and the performances of the Kibbutz Dance Ensemble at the Caracas Festival in Venezuela. Mr. Massalha will meet with leaders of the Jewish communities in the four countries he is visiting, and will present addresses in a number of prestigious research institutions.
