FM Director-General Bentsur in Berlin
Following the arrival in Berlin, today (Thursday), 18.2.99, of a Foreign Ministry delegation, led by Director-General Eytan Bentsur, consultations were held with the participation of Israeli Ambassador Avi Primor, Consul General Miriam Shomrat and other officials. Afterwards, a preliminary reconstruction of the incident was held with consulate employees. Director-General Bentsur also met with consulate employees and gave them his support in the wake of yesterday's difficult incident.
Germany and Israel are fully cooperating in order to clarify yesterday's chain of events and draw conclusions.
Director-General Bentsur will leave for Bonn this afternoon, where he will meet with Minister in the Chancellor's Office Bodo Hombach and senior German Foreign Ministry officials.
