Memorandum of Understanding Signed
between Israel, Belgium and Palestinian Authority
The signing ceremony of the Trilateral Memorandum of Understanding for the establishment of a course for Palestinian doctors at Ben-Gurion and Al-Quds Universities took place yesterdayday (Monday) 15.2.99 at the Laromme Hotel in Jerusalem. The ceremony took place in the presence of the Belgian Health Minister Colla, who is currently visiting Israel, the Deputy Director-General of the Israel Foreign Ministry's Deparment for International Cooperation, Mr. Haim Divon, and a representative of the Palestinian Authority's Department for Planning and International Co-operation.
The course, an initiative of the Foreign Ministry Department for International Cooperation (Mashav) and Ben-Gurion and Al-Quds Universities, financed jointly by Mashav and the Belgian government, will be taught by Israeli and Palestinian instructors.
30 medical students from Al-Quds University's Infectious Diseases Department, will take part in the course, which will be included as part of the studies for a Masters' Degree in Public Health.
