Israel's Young Ambassadors
For the past 29 years, the Foreign Ministry, in cooperation with the Education Ministry, has been dispatching dozens of students to various countries through the "Young Ambassadors" program.
After a selection process of tests and personal interviews, the students undergo a training course in the following subjects: history, Zionism, public speaking and current events. The participants will appear before a variety of audiences: youth groups, schools, synagogues and the local media, and will meet with the national and local government officials of their respective countries.
This year's delegation of 74 youths will visit over 40 countries, including the United States, Canada, Australia, Japan, Philippines, Taiwan, South Africa, Zimbabwe, Argentina, Chile, Uruguay, Colombia, Peru, Panama, Mexico, the United Kingdom, France, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway, Finland, Switzerland and Turkey. They will appear before a variety of local audiences, including youth groups, schools and synagogues, will speak with the local media and meet with national and local government officials.
