Jerusalem, February 24, 1998 Foreign Ministry dispatching aid to Cameroon
The Foreign Ministry is dispatching two doctors to Cameroon to aid victims of the train collision which occurred there on 14.2.98, in which about 120 people were killed and about 400 injured.
In response to a request for assistance by the Cameroon Embassy in Israel, the Foreign Ministry is sending Dr. Avraham Glickspan and Dr. Yirmiyahu Tamir, of the Sheba Medical Center's Plastic Surgery and Burn Department, who will assist their colleagues at a hospital in Cameroon for about 10 days.
The mission is a joint effort of the foreign ministry's Africa Department and the Center for International Cooperation (MASHAV)
