Israel sends second aid plane to Rwanda
On Monday, 27.1.97, Israel sent its second plane loaded with aid and assistance supplies to Rwanda. The Israeli assistance has been coordinated with the needs of Rwanda based on the requests of the Kigali government in its contacts with international organizations.
The aid, organized by the Foreign Ministry's Center for International Cooperation (MASHAV) in coordination with its International Organizations and Africa Departments, will focus on rehabilitating refugees in the Mutara region. The aid will include: 11 tons of varioius types of seed, 20 machines for producing bricks and roof shingles, hundreds of hand tools, 11 hand seeders, and 10 pesticide sprinklers. The aid is being given for the long-term in accordance with the Government's decision of November 22, 1996 and in full coordination with the local Rwandan authorities.
