PM and FM Advisors Yatom and Pinkas visit Cairo
The Director of the Prime Minister Ehud Barak's Political-Security Staff, Danny Yatom, and the Director of Foreign Minister David Levy's Bureau, Alon Pinkas, met today (Sunday), 20.2.2000, in Cairo, with Egyptian Foreign Minister Amr Moussa, and discussed the various tracks of the peace process.
Prime Minister Barak and Foreign Minister Levy decided over the weekend to dispatch the two advisors to Cairo, following telephone conversations between Prime Minister Barak and Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak and between Foreign Minister Levy and his Egyptian counterpart.
During the over three-hour meeting, Messrs. Yatom and Pinkas clarified Israeli policy in Lebanon to their interlocutors including the significance of the recent Cabinet decision. They similarly emphasized Prime Minister Barak's determination to exhaust all chances for progress on all tracks with the objective of strengthening Israel's security by achieving agreements.
