PM Barak meets bulgarian president Stoyanov

 

Prime Minister Ehud Barak yesterday (Tuesday) 18.1.2000, met President of Bulgaria Petar Stoyanov. The Prime Minister briefed President Stoyanov on the recent developments in the peace process and on trends in the Israeli economy.

Prime Minister noted that the Israeli market is a healthy location for foreign investment on one hand and is searching for new markets for its products on the other. He extended an invitation for the Bulgarian Defense Minister to visit Israel in order to discuss security cooperation and the possible purchase of Israeli equipment.

President Stoyanov expressed hope for greater economic cooperation for the benefit of both Israel and Bulgaria, and suggested strengthening relations between businessmen of both countries.

Agreements in the field of agriculture and the prevention of double taxation were also signed.
