Communicated by the Foreign Ministry Spokesman  Jerusalem, January 3, 2000 Foreign Ministry Publishes Guide for Israeli Travellers   Following a sharp rise in recent years in the number of Israeli citizens who have found themselves in some form of distress while abroad, the Foreign Ministry's 'Division for Israelis Abroad' has published a guide for Israeli travellers. The guide, printed on sturdy paper and enclosed in a plastic sleeve, contains basic useful information, advice on behavior and customs abroad, and details regarding the assistance available to Israeli citizens in distress from the local Israel mission. (Due to the lack of clarity on this issue among the public, the guide also includes information regarding those spheres in which the Israeli mission has no authority or capacity to deal.) The guide, together with a previously published travel information and advisory brochure, contains telephone numbers for Israeli missions abroad, and includes a form for vital data, such as contact numbers and personal emergency information such as blood type, medical allergies, and health insurance details. The guide may be obtained at travel agencies, travellers' shops, and larger health facilities, such as Misgav Ladach Hospital in Jerusalem and Shiba Medical Center in Tel HaShomer.
