Communicated by PM's Media Advisor Jerusalem, October 14, 1997 Israel releases palestinian funds Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced today (Tuesday.) 14.10.97, that Israel has decided to release the remaining funds, amounting to approximately NIS 200 million, whose transfer to the Palestinian Authority been delayed until now. The Prime Minister said that the decision is in response to the preliminary steps taken by the Palestinian Authority in the fight against terrorism, and is intended to create a positive atmosphere ahead of the negotiations between Israel and the Palestinian Authority.
