Barak: Arafat's Time for Decisions has Arrived


Prime Minister Ehud Barak spoke yesterday afternoon (Tuesday), Aug. 29, 2000, with Russian President Vladimir Putin and updated him on the status of the negotiations with the Palestinians.

Prime Minister Barak clarified the main points of Israel's positions and emphasized that the international community must make it clear to Palestinian Authority Chairman Yasser Arafat that the time of decision has arrived and that he must make a decision in the coming weeks if he wants to reach an agreement.

Prime Minister Barak also expressed his condolences over the fire at the television tower in Moscow.

The two leaders agreed to continue their dialogue next week in New York.
