Communicated by the MFA Spokesman Jerusalem, 12 April 1998 Jewish property stolen during the Holocaust In response to a question following publication in the press, the Foreign Ministry spokesman stated that no discussion has been held on transferring the handling of the matter of Jewish property stolen during the Holocaust to the state, and there is no intention of doing so. The spokesman added that the Government of Israel plays a role in this matter through the World Jewish Restitution Organization (WJRO), in which many Jewish organizations participate, including the World Jewish Congress and the Jewish Agency.
