At the Cabinet meeting today (Thursday), 15.1.98:

The Cabinet continued its discussion on political issues. At the start of the meeting, the Prime Minister dealt with issues relating to the further redeployment:

  1. The carrying out by the Palestinians of their obligations, in keeping with the government decision on the principle of reciprocity, as agreed upon in the Note for the Record attached to the Hebron Agreement.
  2. The range of possibilities, in light of the essential interests of Israel, as expressed in the government decision.
  3. The question as to whether we are discussing a decision relating to one or more stages of the redeployment.
  4. The amount of time necessary for the Palestinians to carry out their commitments.

The Prime Minister said that the discussion on the positions that will be presented on these issues in Washington will be concluded on Sunday.
